The Fiscal Year (“FY”) 2025-26 Community Groups Funding Program ("CGFP") is being managed by the Martinez Community Foundation ("MCF") as a pilot partnership. Martinez-based nonprofit organizations that met eligibility requirements, as identified in the Community Groups Funding Policy, submitted applications to MCF by August 5, 2025 for award consideration. MCF's CGFP Committee reviewed and scored applications and the MCF Board approved grant recommendations, with City staff review.
Through the FY 2025-2026 pilot, the City and MCF granted 12 Martinez-based non-profit organizations a CGFP grant to support programs or projects related to community engagement, environment, art and culture, economic opportunity, education and skills development, and other community priorities. MCF supplemented the City’s $18,500 in funding with an additional $17,250 in MCF awards to CGFP applicants. An overview of the FY 2025-2026 CGFP awards are shown below:

Additionally, three organizations ineligible for the City’s CGFP Award received funding from MCF to implement their projects. FY 2025-2026 CGFP funding awards must be spent by grant recipients by June 30, 2026.
The City has long supported local non-profit organizations that serve the Martinez community. In March 2007, the City Council adopted a “Community Groups Funding Policy” which was subsequently updated in December 2024.
