Biking

Biking is a great way to get around Martinez. Convenient bike lanes will allow you to ditch gasoline in favor of peddling! Whether you plan to bike to work, use your bike to shop, or just bike around, here are some resources to help you on your way.

The city of Martinez is committed to improving biking conditions in Downtown Martinez and to promote the use of bikes as an everyday commute option. Please find our current infrastructure as well as the improvements being considered in our Downtown Martinez Community-Based Transportation Plan (page 23, 25 and 47).

Walking

Hiking, Exploring and Recreation

The city of Martinez encourages you to go out and explore our many beautiful parks and visit our numerous historic sites. Transit and Trails is a great tool which allows you to plan biking and hiking trips which are accessible from public transit therefore eliminating the need for your car.
