As Republic Services customers, Martinez residents can request additional pickup services. The Solid Waste and Recycling Franchise Agreements with Republic Services allow single family residential customers to request nine free additional pickups per year.

On-Call Single-Family Residential Cleanup Services include:

• Four recycling/yard waste collections (which also include household battery, cellular phone, and compact fluorescent bulb recycling)
• Two landfill waste collections for up to three cubic yards
• Two "bulky item" collections for items such as mattresses, electronics, furniture, or appliances (dishwasher, washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, hot water heater, freezer, air conditioner, swamp coolers), or tires
• One pre-scheduled "Citywide Cleanup" day in June (landfill and green waste)

Multi-Family Cleanup Services include:

• Complex owners may request three On-Call Cleanup Services (two for landfill and one for recycling/green waste).
• Tenants can obtain a voucher from Republic Services for up to one cubic yard of solid waste to be dumped at no charge at the Contra Costa Transfer and Recovery Station in Martinez. Tenants must go to Republic Services' office at 441 N. Buchanan Circle, Pacheco (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) and provide proof of residency. Tenants are eligible to obtain one voucher per calendar year. No appliances, e-waste, hazardous waste, or treated wood.
