The City also participates in several advisory bodies administered by Contra Costa County or other public agencies. For these bodies, the Mayor appoints Martinez residents to serve as representatives for the City of Martinez.

Applications & Qualifications
The City of Martinez accepts applications year-round from residents interested in serving on Advisory Bodies. These bodies advise the City Council and are subject to the Brown Act.
Applicants must generally be at least 18 years old and reside within the incorporated limits of the City of Martinez. Some Advisory Bodies may have additional or different eligibility requirements. Specific qualifications and membership requirements are provided in each body’s description.

Maddy Act Notices
In accordance with the Maddy Act, the City annually publishes a list of current vacancies and upcoming expired terms for its local Advisory Bodies. The notice is provided to inform the public of opportunities to serve.
