New Program Alert! You will not want to miss Sports of All Sorts! This new program will teach kids about all SORTS of SPORTS: ultimate frisbee, soccer, capture the flag and more. Pre-registration Required! Registration opens Monday, August 30th at 8:00am.

Make sure to plan on attending the Annual Trunk-or-Treat Spooktacular hosted by Downtown Martinez & Co. Martinez Recreation will be sponsoring Halloween crafts, activities and face painting (COVID permitting). Bring a candy bag to fill with goodies at each trunk stop and wear your best costume. Online Driver's Ed

The Bay Area Driving School is offering an interactive, educational online course  for teens under 17 1/2 years seeking to obtain a learner’s permit and driver’s license. The course is designed to let students learn at their own pace. It features many photos, animations, videos, quizzes, and illustrated scenarios to help you enjoy the experience, understand the material, and become a better driver. Upon completion, students will receive a DMV-approved Driver’s Education Certificate of Completion.

Youth Scholarship Program (Road Runner's Scholarship)

Is your child interested in participating in a Martinez Recreation Department program or activity but find yourself on a limited family budget? Partial financial assistance may be available to you through our Youth Scholarship Program which is based on financial need.  

To be eligible, your child must be a City of Martinez resident or attend a school in the Martinez Unified School District and meet the income requirements highlighted within the application. Proof of income must be presented with this application.

Funds for the scholarship are 100% provided by private donations. Applicants may submit applications for consideration year round for any advertised Martinez Recreation program. Each scholarship will pay up to 50% of the activity fee, not including lab fees.  A limit of $75 in scholarships per eligible child is available each fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).

Scholarships are granted as long as funds are available.
