Youth & Adult Sports

Martinez Recreation Division offers adult competitive leagues, after school recreational sports for youth, pre-school sports, instructional summer camps and classes. 

Permits for ball field use are issued seasonally through recreation services.

Community and business sponsors are welcome to support the positive development of our youth and to help expand our programs. Contact us for more information on how you can participate

FALL 2019- Adult Softball League *NOW AVAILABLE*
 Location:

Joe DiMaggio Fields

 Leagues:

Co-Ed Just for Fun League (Tuesday nights)

Men's E League (Wednesday nights)

  Dates:

Coed League: September 3- October 15 (7 weeks, no playoffs)

Men's E League:  September 4- October 16 (7 weeks, no playoffs)

Managers Meeting Thursday, August 29th at 6:30pm at the Joe DiMaggio Fields at Waterfront Park

 Game Times:

6:10pm, 7:15pm and 8:20pm

 Cost:

Men's E: $516 per team + $7 per each non-resident (max # of non res players charged is 9)

Coed League: $516 per team + $7 per each non-resident (max # of non res players charged is 9)

CHURCH LEAGUE 2020 
May 6- August 24

Plays USSSA rules and in managed by Bill Francis at Morello Hills Christian Church.  Season begins  Monday, May 6 and ends August 24 with a tournament. For more information, about Church League Softball, please contact Bill Francis at bfmhcc@juno.com

As of October 17, 2019, the following fields are available for rental for the 2019 Fall Season:

Tavan Ballfield (Weekdays are no longer available for the 2019 Fall Season.)

(*Field 3 reserved for 14 yrs and up. Baseball only.)

Field 1, Field 2, Field 3, Field 4 $28/hr rental; Lights $35/hr

Field 5 $16.50/hr Rental

Note: Field 5 does not have lights. Work with sunset schedule for dates/times of use.

How do I rent a field?

  1. Submit a Field Use Request Form found HERE. Make sure to include information about your team/league, number of players, number of player who live WITHIN the City of Martinez City limits, prospect schedule date and times, etc.
  2. If approved based upon availability, submit a Certificate of Insurance, Additional Endorsement and Hold Harmless Agreement. Insurance Requirements can be found HERE for reference.
  3. Once everything is submitted an invoice is drafted for rental time and deposit is required. A field is not secured unless a deposit has been submitted. A separate deposit per field is required if field change within use schedule.
  4. Once deposit/rental payment is receive then a Field Permit listing rental dates, times and details is sent to renter. Renter must keep Field Permit on them at all times during use. An example Field Permit can be found HERE.
