The Martinez Sustainability Award, an expansion of the recycling and waste-reduction Eco-Award Program, recognizes exemplary efforts in sustainability. The goal of this program is to foster community engagement, highlight lesser-known environmental champions, and empower the Martinez community. 

Martinez Sustainability Awards will be presented annually during a Regular Meeting of the City Council in April, in celebration of Earth Month. Up to eight awards are distributed each year across four award categories:

Martinez Sustainability Award nominations are accepted year-round. Nominations are open to the public and kept anonymous.  

Please note that nominees must live, work, or operate in the City of Martinez.
