You must live within the jurisdictional boundaries of City of Martinez to apply for a CCW at Martinez PD, residing within the jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Department does not apply.

In California, a municipal police department like the Martinez Police Department is required to follow strict state and local guidelines when performing the necessary background checks for issuing Concealed Carry Weapons licenses. Due to the detailed nature involved with conducting these background checks, appointment times and processing times can take up to 6 - 9 months. During the application process, an applicant will meet with a Police Sergeant for an interview and submit Livescan fingerprints.
Note: If you received your initial CCW license from another agency and would like to apply for a renewal CCW license in the City of Martinez, you would need to apply as a new CCW applicant.
If you are RENEWING a Concealed Carry Weapon license in the City of Martinez, you cannot apply until sixty (60) or fewer days before your current license expires.
