Program Description

The Housing Choice Voucher (“HCV”) Program is a federal government program, administered by the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa (“HACCC”), to assist very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing by providing rental assistance.

Property Owner Benefits

Property owner benefits include guaranteed rent payments, free rental advertising, freedom to choose your own tenants, free inspections, flexible lease terms, and annual rent increases. Learn more on the HACCC website.

Program Eligibility

  • Have an income at or below the HUD-specified income limits. Income limits can be found in the Housing and Urban Development data center website.
  • Qualify as a family as defined by HUD and HACCC standards.
  • Have at least one member of the family who is a citizen, national, or noncitizen with eligible immigration status.
  • Consent to HACCC’s collection and use of family information as seen in HACCC’s provided consent forms.
