CAFE COSTA: MEAL SERVICE UPDATE
Important Information for Our Community Members Provided by Contra Costa County Senior Nutrition Program
Dear Café Costa Participants,
As valued members of our community, we want to inform you about changes to our meal service beginning January 1, 2026.
New Meal Reservation System
Starting January 1, our meal service will operate as
follows:
*Daily capacity: 19 meals per day
*Reservations available 2 days in advance
*Reserve your meal in person or by phone (925) 372-3557
*First-come, first-served basis
*Waitlist available when daily capacity is reached
*No take-out meals
Important Notice About Cancellations
If you cannot attend a meal you've reserved, please
notify us first thing in the morning. This allows us to
offer your spot to someone on our waiting list. Once a
meal is included in our daily count of 19, we must
account for it regardless of whether it's served.
Your timely cancellations help us serve more
community members and make the most efficient use
of our limited resources.
Reason for These Adjustments
Our participation numbers have grown while county
funding has remained fixed. These measured steps will
help ensure we can provide consistent meal service
throughout the year within our budget constraints.
What Remains the Same
All center activities will continue as usual
Eligibility requirements remain unchanged (60+
and Contra Costa County residents)
Meal Contributions
Your voluntary contributions toward meals
continue to be an important part of sustaining our
program. Each contribution helps us maintain
quality service for our community.
Assistance Available
Our staff is here to help with reservations or to
connect you with additional food resources if
needed. Please don't hesitate to ask questions by
calling 925-372-3557. We appreciate your
understanding and ongoing participation in our
community.
Please note, cafe costa opens at 11:00am. Lunch is served Monday-Friday from 11:30am-12:15pm. A recommended contribution of $3.00 is highly encouraged.
To make a reservation you must call by noon one business day prior to the day you want to attend.
At your first visit you will need to complete an Intake form, this is REQUIRED by Contra Costa County.
