Curb Colors and their Meaning

Curb Colors and Their Meaning (2)

The City of Martinez uses standard curb coloring to mark parking or standing regulations for vehicles. Here is a brief description of the zone colors and their meaning.

Green Curb = Limited Time, no more than 20 minutes unless sign says otherwise.

Yellow Curb = Loading Zone, only to be used for loading and unloading of passengers or materials, and for only 20 minutes or less.

White Curb = Pickup Zone, only for loading or unloading passengers, no parking allowed.

Blue Curb = Disabled / ADA Parking, ADA placard or license plate may be visible at all times.

Red Curb = NO Parking, Stopping or Standing for any time in this zone.

There may be other limits or restrictions for the zones depending on other factors; you can find a full description of the zones in Muni Code Title 10.

Daylighting Law AB 413 Assembly Bill 413 (AB 413), known as the "Daylighting Law," is a California statute aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety by improving visibility at crosswalks/intersections. The law prohibits parking within 20 feet of the approaching side of any marked or unmarked crosswalk, regardless of curb markings. You can read more about this law on the City's Daylighting Law webpage.
