Water Main Break on Pacheco Blvd, Updates

On Sunday morning 8/31/2025, there was water main break along Pacheco Boulevard just east of Palm Ave. Water service in downtown and Mountain View neighborhoods is affected. We will provide regular updates on this webpage and City social media, Instagram and Facebook, as we have new information to share. 

Update 9/2/2025 6:30am: The water main break on Pacheco Blvd has been repaired as of 4:30am this morning. The City has received reports that some of the affected areas and other neighborhoods are still experiencing low or no water flow. If you are affected, please email with your cross streets or neighborhood so that we can ensure all areas are accounted for as crews check valves and water pressure: Communications@cityofmartinez.org

Update 9/1/2025 8:45pm: Repairs on the second water main break are underway. All available crew members are on site and Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) is also assisting. We are currently estimating that repairs will be done overnight and water service to all affected neighborhoods will be restored early morning. We will update if this estimate changes, or when water service is restored. We appreciate your patience as work continues to restore service, and thank our water crews and CCWD for their ongoing efforts.

Update 9/1/25 4:55pm: Public Works crews are now addressing a second water main break on Pacheco Blvd. We have requested assistance from Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) and they have mobilized crews and equipment to help City workers. We are asking residents in affected neighborhoods to conserve water and minimize usage as crews continue repairs on the second break. We appreciate your patience as work continues to restore service, and thank our water crews for all of their efforts.

Update 9/1/25 10:55am: Public Works crews are continuing to repair the water main break on Pacheco Blvd. Water service to some affected neighborhoods is temporarily restored. Water service may be interrupted again in these neighborhoods later this morning as additional repairs continue. Crews are prioritizing restoration of service as soon as possible. All available water crew members are working on the issue and additional crews from other maintenance divisions are also assisting.
     When water service is restored, there may be temporary water discoloration after water main work. The water is safe and you can let faucets run for a few minutes to clear any discoloration. If you still have a concern after flushing your faucets, the water quality phone line is 925-372-3588 and rings to an operator at the Martinez Water Treatment Plant.
     We appreciate your patience as work continues to restore service, and thank our water crews continuing their hard work on repairs.

Update 9/1/2025 7am : Public Works crews worked through the night to repair the water main break on Pacheco Boulevard. While the main break was temporarily repaired, it subsequently broke again. Repairs are still ongoing and water service is still impacted. Crews are prioritizing restoration of service as soon as possible. All available water crew members are working on the repairs and contract reinforcements have been requested at their earliest availability to assist. Thank you for your patience, and thank you to the crews who have been working nonstop to restore service.

Update 9/1/25 12:40am: Public Works crews have isolated the water main break and repairs will be underway soon. Currently, there is no ETA for when the repairs will be complete, and work is expected to continue through the morning. Crews are prioritizing restoring service when possible, and all available water crew members are working on the issue. We will share more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your patience, and thank you to the crews continuing to work on this.

8/31/2025 10:15pm: Public Works crews are actively working on isolating the water main break on Pacheco Boulevard. Once the leak is isolated, we will have a better understanding of what work needs to be done and how long that will take. We will share that information when it is available. 8/31/2025 7:45pm: On Sunday morning 8/31/2025, there was water main break along Pacheco Boulevard just east of Palm Ave. Despite best efforts, crews have not yet been able to isolate the leak. Water pressure and flow will be affected in downtown and Mountain View neighborhoods as crews continue work to isolate the break. We will provide regular updates on City social media, Instagram and Facebook, as we have new information to share.
