Come Celebrate the Birthplace of the Martini – 3rd Annual Martini Festival: Martinis on the Plaza, Saturday, September 29, 2012

Come Celebrate the Birthplace of the Martini!  On Saturday, September 29, 2012, enjoy a magical evening under the enchantment of a starry sky, a babbling plaza fountain, graceful white tents & dancing twinkle lights as you travel back in time to the elegance of an era past.  Partake of specialty martinis, epicurean delights from 14 of Diablo Valley's finest restaurants, and live music by Bay Area acclaimed Blues & Soul band Big Cat Tolefree & The Hypnotics as we celebrate Martinez's heritage as the birthplace of the Martini.
Shaken or Stirred? NEW FOR 2012…Help judge the newly added martini contest and crown the maker of the best Martinez area martini; your vote counts! Hosted by the Martinez Chamber and presented by Chairs for Affairs.  Want reserved seating?  Purchase a table of ten and receive one free admission plus a reserved table. Admission includes a commemorative event photo, fabulous food & two drink tickets per person.  Advance tickets sold at www.TheMartiniFestival.com or at the Chamber office. Be Part of History!  PURCHASE YOUR TICKET EARLY & RECEIVE FREE ADMISSION TO THE MARTINI STROLL on Friday, September 14, 2012.  Join us for "Julio Richelieu Day" and Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder's proclamation at the Martini monument located at the corner of Masonic St & Alhambra Ave at 4:00pm. Immediately following, receive a commemorative martini glass and stroll to the following nearby restaurants for a "bartender's choice" martini:

• La Tapatia
• Sunflower Garden
• Barrel Aged

Must be 21; ID required.  PLEASE NOTE: Admission is free to the Stroll with purchase of a Martini Festival Ticket at http://www.themartinifestival.com/; simply bring a copy of your ticket to the Stroll.
