Bone Marrow Drive Yields 500 Potential Donors

Update on Bone Marrow Drive – On Thursday, July 29, 2010, the Martinez Police Department along with the Martinez Police Officers' Association, the Martinez Non-Sworn Employees Association and CCMRC sponsored the day-long Bone Marrow Drive at the Martinez City Council Chambers.
"The Bone Marrow Drive was one of the highest producing single day drives ever," said, Trina Brajkovich of Be the Match. We had approximately 1000 people attend, 700 apply to be donors and 500 were registered. Several others asked for kits to be sent to their home.
On behalf of the Police Department Staff, both employee associations and CCRMC want to thank everyone for getting the word out to the community. The overwhelming response to the call for donors should serve as a reminder that when the community comes together for a common purpose it can do great things.
