Did you know that organic waste accounts for an average of 20-40% of the waste generated in households, according to a recent study?  By simply composting their own yard waste, such as leaves, fruit and grass clippings, local residents can inexpensively fertilize their own yards and directly contribute to the solution to this mounting problem.

The City of Martinez has scheduled a home composting workshop Thursday, October 27th, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.  To RSVP for this workshop,
